From 8.30 a.m. vehicles will NOT be permitted in the Procession Assembly Area - Westby Street, Talbot Terrace, Cleveland Road, Bannister Street, Station Road, Park View Road to Mythop Road, Haven Road and St. John’s Street. As I’m sure you can all understand this is to ensure the safety of everyone assembling to take part in the parade.
From 9.30 a.m. until about 1.00 p.m. the main procession diversions will come into operation on Warton Street, Clifton Street, Park Street, Ballam Road to South Park and Church Road all of which are CLOSED to traffic. Additionally the Beach will also be closed to traffic from Woodville Terrace to Lytham Primary Care Centre whilst the procession is in progress on the Beach. All traffic will be diverted via Forest Drive, South Park, Ballam Road, Park View Road, Saltcotes Road and reverse.
These arrangements are of course in place to ensure the safety of everyone taking part in the parade and In the main, members of the public do respect the need for the traffic arrangements. However, occasionally there is someone that believes they can drive through the barriers and ignore the Marshalls, please be aware that all our Marshalls will be instructed to contact the Police without hesitation and report those individuals. I’m sure everyone understands why this year in particular it is more important than ever.
BUS SERVICES WILL BE DIVERTED AS ABOVE.
APPROXIMATELY 1.00pm traffic restrictions will be removed.
